Lisa Miskovsky - Still Alive

Due out soon, Mirror's Edge is an awesome new PS3 game which you HAVE to buy! I will be!

The main theme tune is Lisa Miskovsky's Still Alive which in my opinion is a lush choon and is my song of the moment.

Enjoy! =]

Bleep!

Again, thanks to Gaz for the inspired comedy here. Scott Mills regularly hosts a few minutes of 'Badly Bleeped TV' on his radio show and they are archived online at his unofficial fansite to listen. I laughed hard! =D

Here's the link

Brilliant!

A similar concept has been used on an American TV show. Unnecessary Censorship is hilarious and lots of clips can be found on YouToob. This one has to be my favourite by far. I laugh so hard every time that I almost self combust! Seriously!

Cut Me Loose!

I picked this tune up from the recent Scrubs advert on TV and I really do like it!

Katy Perry - Hot N Cold

So sick of hearing about her kissing cherry chapstick lips of humans of the same gender, but I really do like this! I like the video too!

The Killers - Human

I used to be a big fan of The Killers when I was in college but I have not liked any of their releases after that. However, I really do this tune, have a listen!

When News Reporting Goes Wrong

Sorry had to add these clips hehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehe!

And this...

...tut tut!

Sharon Den Adel with Armin Van Buuren

I didn't know about this collaboration until now but this is actually months old. Sharon Den Adel is the amazing singer from one of my favourite bands ever, Within Temptation.

Not sure what I think of the main video as Sharon usually has sort of a Goth look.

It Only Happens To Me!

Today I tragically ruined my second pair of the same shoes within just a few weeks of buying them both! It only happens to me!

Me and my mate Carl decided to stop for ice cream at Verdi's in Mumbles in his car. I HAD to pick the chocolate flavour; thick, dark brown stuff. Well I'd had enough and there was no bin about so I was naughty and I left it on the floor outside of the car door. Well a few minutes later we felt some fat little brat touching the back of the car so I jumped out to tell him off... but I forgot about the ice cream!

When I stepped out, I stepped right onto the tub of ice cream and the brown mousse splatted all over my leg, all over my shorts, all over the car door (of Carl's super clean new car whups), and somehow, the spoon covered in ice cream managed to slide into my shoe and inject a dollop of the stuff right inside! I was swimming in the stuff and my almost-new, white plimsolls were ruined, AGAIN!

I don't know why I bother! I'm never buying fabric shoes again!

I am a great fan of this designer. I forgot his name but managed to track him down again. Added to bookmarks!

Alex Mapar

I love this guys' work. He's a motion graphics designer with a great portfolio. It's all about moving images these days!

Metal Gear Solid: Feline Edition

I think it's about time the military started taking on cats. Check out this stealth cat! =P

New Sea Species!

Marine scientists in Australia have recently found several hundreds of new underwater species including delicious slugs, worms and jellyfish. They're only small, which is why they've never really been noticed before but fascinating nonetheless.

In case you don't know, I'm obsessed with sea creatures, especially the rare ones!

Super Star - The Mobile Skyscraper

This is a truly bizarre 'building' which I just can't 'imagine'. This radical 'skyscraper' is a town-in-spikes created by MAD architects. Yep, they are real but of course this hasn't quite gone into production yet.

Apparently, the Super Star is mobile and can move from place to place all around the world.

I'm contacting them now to secure an apartment for when I'm 80... and retired... and a billionaire.

Don't Put Chocolate Gateau in the Microwave!

Today some of my family got together for dinner, well more like 'tea'. My sister just has to have a dessert after eating any meal, it's a strict ritualistic tradition of hers. She insisted on chocolate fudge cake but there was none here so immediately travelled to the nearby shop to buy one but they only had chocolate gateau, so she bought that anyway.

Well unfortunately, us blondes lack some important brain cells to function correctly and my sister didn't realise that a frozen gateau would take at least 2 hours to defrost so her solution was to put it in the microwave.

Well it was a disaster of course! Here I have shown a picture of the mush I was forced to consume which tasted rank as it was warm and just... wrong.

So the moral of the story is, don't ever allow my sister to choose a dessert! ...oh and don't put chocolate gateau in the microwave.

Pixel Distillery

Thanks to Gaz for pointing out this designer and their work. Some really nice design work and great 3D stuff!

It may be time to start picking my brains at Cinema 4D...

Burma Viral

Just came across this stunning viral video which seems to make people aware of the crisis in Burma.

It has aircraft in it, so I'm already sold! But the direction, quality and concept is beautiful. Watch it.

Tip: Don't forget to click 'Watch in high quality' just underneath the video to see a better quality version!

Rent Me!

As you'll know, I graduated with a degree in Graphic Design in July and worked damn hard for it! In June I worked at the smashing design agency Fitch in Paddington, London. Great experience! Since then I've also showcased my work at the annual New Designers exhibition in London, and received a lot of attention! I was overwhelmed actually.

Well since then, money, dreaded money has been preventing me from making the move to London and taking up these offers, so I have been looking for something more local. Hmm not easy when you live in Swansea! There's not much around at all, and when something comes up, the competition is fierce.

Basically, I'm looking for a job 'quite' local, which means anything in and around South/Mid Wales, a job that I can easily commute to, or relocate to if cheap (impossible in London!). Of course, I consider myself a graphic designer, no what am I talking about, i AM a graphic designer, employed or not. So I'm looking for graphic design related employment in this area. If that's not possible, then something where I'm using skills I've learned, or the inevitable, anything else that will help me raise funds for now.

So if you're an employer and you're reading this, get in touch! If you know someone who may take me on, get in touch! If you someone who knows someone who may take me on, get in touch!

Email me!

It's Official! WipEout HD is Out On September 25th!

Finally... after scouring the net for months on end looking for rumours and news, my most anticipated game of the year is officially coming out on September 25th and will be priced at a very, very good sum of £11.99/$19.99 to download on the PSN store. Honestly, I'm so excited I could eat my shirt!

I hope every other PS3 owner will be playing this online. Bring it on!

Gutted I Missed Lee Evans!

Lee Evans is in Cardiff this weekend including tonight, but it looks like tickets have sold out. Would love to have gone! I was watching a DVD of him in Cardiff last year. He's hilarious!

Here's a lil clip from last year, there's loads on YouTube. Hope everyone who went/is going to see him has a good time! -jealous-

Speaking of Synth Pop; Matinee Club

On a synth-pop note, I thought I would also express my love here for Matinee Club, formerly known as The Modern. They haven't released anything new but go listen to their tracks at MySpace and listen to their most recent tune here:

Matinee Club - Discotheque Francais

One of my fave songs of last year!

Matinee Club MySpace

Daggers - Check Them Out!

Just came across this uber-cool band called Daggers from Manchester. Grrrrreat synth-pop style music and I love their style. Go check them out at their MySpace website: Daggers

Soft Spot For Pop & RnB!

Not for the faint hearted, some poptacular songs spinning around at the moment that always put a smile on your face and rhythm in your booty. Gotta love 'em!

Miley Cyrus - See You Again (Fake, But More Interesting Video)

The Saturdays - Up

Ne-Yo - Miss Independent

Brandy - Right Here (Departed)

Brick & Lace - Love Is Wicked

Michelle Williams - We Break The Dawn

Yep I was in a very poppy mood...

The New iPods

After Apple's anticipated, yet highly disappointing show recently, we are now presented with a brand new set of updated iPods as expected. The iPod Classic (I currently own one of these but in 5G, which I have broke =[ Nooooo!) has been 'downgraded' and is now only available in 120GB (odd!), the iPod Touch is now thinner and has some new features including external volume control, and finally the iPod Nano's have gone from that cute little fat design back to the longer style design. Apparently the new Nano's are the thinnest in the world!

I'm a bit confused with the Classic's capacity changes, not sure what to think of that. The Touch's new features are great but still no GPS. And I actually prefer the fat Nano's, but the new colour selection is impressive.

Also, overall there are some price drops, most noticeably the Touch's which is great news. My next purchase will be a 32GB iPod Touch, I'll let you know when I get it.

Sia's New Video, Lush

I'm a huge fan of Sia and I've had her album 'Some People Have Real Problems' on repeat since around Christmas last year, it never fails to bore me.

Her next single is the lush 'Soon We'll Be Found' which was co written by Rick Nowels who co-wrote Madonna's Power Of Goodbye and Dido's White Flag. Here's the video, check out the shadows and neons! Another quirky video from the awesome Australian:

Shirley Manson In TSCC!

You gotta see this! It's Shirley Manson from Garbage with her appearance in Terminator The Sarah Connor Chronicles as a killer urinal! Why oh why didn't I watch more of this series...

Wipeout HD Update

Looks like no Wipeout HD AGAIN, just some crap I'm not interested in again on this week's PSN update... apparently anyway. Mine hasn't updated yet.

On the other hand there is good news though, looks like it may be out at the end of this month and will be priced at £11.99. Hmm!

An (Unoffical) Apple Store Coming to Swansea!

It's about time us Apple product owners had somewhere to go if we need help/advice or just want to buy or browse anything Apple in sunny Swansea. Unfortunately, there's still no Apple store in Wales (which is disgraceful and racist against Welsh people I say!!!), but even if there was one it would be in Cardiff. But for now, we have AT Computers who seems a good, reputable firm and are about to open a store in Swansea. Where exactly, I don't know yet but I am quite excited.

Fingers crossed for an opening party with free gifts! =D

Niiice

I forgot about this. I stored it on my iMac and forgot where I put it. Just a verrrry, verrrry nice piece of design/ typography work found at TypeNeu.

If Ever You Need Ink...

I HATE the printer industry with a passion! It's just so daft and consumers fall for it. Printers haven't really come down in price much but you can get the odd offer, ie. I picked a decent one up for £20 in Comet recently. Most are still overpriced as the technology is oooold and hasn't developed much at all. Well even though this is the case, I happen to have FOUR printers in my room at present... why? Because of the cost of ink!

Well the first one packed in, which is a shame because the ink is still pretty cheap for this one (but now hard to find!), but bizarrely, every other printer I have costs less than buying the ink on its own! How stupid! For example, this £20 printer I bought in Comet comes with ink, as do all new printers. Well now if I wanted to buy ink for it, I'd probably have to pay around £30. Honestly, it's daft but this sort of thing has been an issue for years and nobody seems to notice. What I've been doing is tracking down decent cheap printers and buying them brand new as its cheaper than buying ink! So you don't need to ask why there are a bunch of printers on my cupboard right?

However, only part of my opinion still stands as of now as I have stumbled into the world of IJT Direct, an online printer ink refilling company. Basically, they sell ink cheaper because they simply fill their own branded compatible cartridges with ink, proving that companies like Epson, HP and Canon are overcharging us for their ink. Ink is not extremely cheap for all printers, but I managed to track down some cheap ink for my nifty little Brother All-In-One printer which was least expected. I received my ink this morning which I have to say, took a while to deliver, but am very happy. My grandfather has dealt with these before and has had no problems what-so-ever.

Best of all, keep checking sites like www.retailmenot.com for IJT Direct discount codes as they seem to have one available all throughout the year which can either give you 50% off their online prices again, or Buy 1 Get 1 Free. Hell yeah!

Praying for Wipeout HD!!!

OK today is Thursday and Thursdays are very, very important days for me for one reason: PlayStation Store Update! Sorry hehe =D I'm obsessed with checking what's new like a schizophrenic on acid! Unfortunately I'm disappointed every single time as nothing ever interests me on there, but I love the excitement anyway.

There is one game which has had me waiting impatiently for months on end (and still isn't out damnit!) of which is Wipeout HD. Apparently the game is finished despite some technical setbacks recently, but there's still no sign of it. So here's hoping that it's going to appear on today's PSN update (It's not on there yet, I just checked hehe).

Check out the official website at . Lush speed, HD graphics and custom soundtrack... It's going to rock!

Walkers Sensations Szechuan Spice Review

OK I bought these as I love scoffing crisps while watching a movie on my sofa but I wish I had stuck to my preferred flavour! I always enjoy a big, elephant-sized bag of Walkers Sensations to myself, either the sweet chilli or the ham ones. These were apparently new so I thought I'd give them a go.

Firstly, they're quite thick, firm crisps which is noticeable on first look, but despite this, they're not too hard at all. The flavour doesn't hit you immediately, but the sweet (but subtle) typical Chinese flavour soon kicks in, with a creamy aftertaste, quite strange and I'm not sure if I approve of it! They aren't too moreish so I can't enjoy them properly!

But, they're not that bad for a quick bite but DON'T buy the big bag!

I give them a generous 6/10 and would not actually recommend them.

Computer Arts Projects

Just picked up a copy of the latest Computer Arts Projects magazine, love the cover! The reason for buying is the issue's theme; freelancing. Looks like I'm going to have to get serious about doing some freelance work right now so it was a good excuse to buy it! It looks thin and overpriced as usual, but should give me some assistance and keep me going for a bit.

Muzak!

Here are some of my most awesomest favourite ELECTRO tunes that I've come across recently, some oldish, some new:

Shameboy - Heartcore

Boyz Noise - Frau

Midfield General - Disco Sirens (D.I.M. Remix)
